Introducing a New Addition to the Kava Luv Team

Hey, It’s Philly once again, and I would like to make an announcement. I am an official Kava Luv employee. My title is Media Content Assistant. After 3 months of contracted work with Kava Luv for various writing purposes and showing my dedication to Kava Luv. I was offered an official position at Kava Luv. I am super excited to be able to be a part of the team here.

Now, my position is mostly going to be running the website and working under Laurelynn, the Social Media Coordinator,  on our social media accounts. I have been a regular at Kava Luv for a year now and I am super proud to know that I am a piece of this beautiful family!

This story starts for me exactly a week before my birthday during a meeting with Mike and Jess. I had decided to ask Laurelynn if she would be okay with me asking if I could work on Kava Luv’s instagram with her. She said it would be absolutely fine, so during my meeting I brought it up. They said that it wasn’t a bad idea and needed time to figure out if it would be a good time. I was happy with the answer but I was a little worried about not getting a yes or no answer.

After all that, I figured it would just be a good idea to work on my craft and prove my worth. Then as I was working on some writing, a Marketing Meeting started at the table I was sitting at. I asked if I should move, and they said “nah, you’re good. You’re basically a part of the team. An unofficial official part of the team!” I did need all that information anyway so I took notes like I should. This all happened on Monday the 9th of October, before tabletop night (shoutout Kam).

So the next day was my birthday, and on October 10th I had a small meeting with Mike. I was just doing my basic work for the Blog as I do and oddly enough Jess and Mike afte. A few other meetings called me outside to come to another meeting. I was worried because I had no warning and no precedent for this meeting so I thought I was in a boatload of trouble. I followed Jess outside, but she wouldn’t tell me anything about what was going on.

I walked outside and sat down and Jess started talking. “Sorry, I know it’s your birthday and the timing could be better…” and my heart just sunk. The anxiety I had for those few minutes before they started talking was coming true. Then Mike cuts her off, and says  “Would you like to be an official part of the team as our Media Content Assistant?” The excitement that shot through my body was unreal. I was so grateful to be included on the team and I was eager to sign. Obviously we went through the employment spiel and paperwork, and as a birthday gift I was given an official position with a business that I am truly passionate about!

So from now on you will be seeing my face quite a bit more around Kava Luv and on the website much more. I’m super grateful for Mike and Jess for picking me, and also for the extremely fun story to tell later.  They really got me good! So, as I start my new job, I will make sure to embody what Kava Luv stands for, and as always keep the Luv alive!
