My name is Amber, I’ve been coming to Kava Luv for almost two years now, and my drink is currently being featured for the first ever Customer Spotlight for the month of July ! I discovered Kava Luv through a family friend and instantly fell in love. The first drink I ever tried was called the “Lavender Luv” which was made up of lavender and agave syrup with botanical tea of your choice. The kavatenders recommended adding some vanilla for sweetener, and I never looked back. The environment at Luv is some of the most welcoming I’ve ever experienced. Honestly just by talking to others I’ve Started to figure out who I am as a person, found myself surrounded by loving friends, and even met my boyfriend here !

After being a regular here for so long I’ve seen not only the company expand but the community grow. Seeing people who come here everyday you laugh with them, cry with them, and build a family within the lounge. Many like myself come to Luv everyday before/after a shift to unwind, or even work from “home”. Part of my favorite aspects of the laundry is the duality of the peaceful daytime, perfect for study or work, and the lively nighttime full of events and opportunities to make lifelong connections. This past year I met my boyfriend, Raul, and we are completely inseparable. I don’t think I ever knew what love was before he took me by the hand and showed me. We met on a random Tuesday night after I got off work. At the time, the whole lounge of around ten of us had gotten into a conversation you would have with good friends. I didn’t even know half of them, Raul and my now close friend Philly, being there. The connections aren’t just limited to other customers, though. The entire staff is insanely easy to speak with and have never once failed to greet me as soon as I come in. As a barista myself, I respect their ability to connect with anyone and everyone to a great degree.

In the past few years, Kava Luv has become a safe haven for me to be able to study without distraction to move towards personal goals. I studied my courses to become Coffee Master certified this past year and now I come to Luv to study Japanese in hopes to work at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Tokyo. Amongst other things, Kava Luv and the introduction of this community has helped me with caffeine dependency and focus. As a freshly graduated kid with little to no direction I found my own path with help of those around me, some I had never thought could make such an impact. Two years later, I now feel I have found my true family here at Kava Luv. Keep the Luv alive! 生き甲斐
