Dive into Healing: Spotlight on Kava Luv Poetry Club

Hi there, at Kava Luv, our poetry club in recent weeks has delved into the poignant themes of addiction through the art of verse. Join us as we open our hearts and minds, using poetry as a medium to express the struggles, hope, and resilience of those impacted by addiction. Through the power of words, let’s come together to create a safe and understanding space, embracing the healing nature of poetry and the strength it brings to address this important topic. The following poem was written by a new addition to our poetry club Michael Maxwell @michaeljmaxwell on instagram.

I tire of the numbness

The intrusive thoughts leave me asking how I could've done this?

But, I believe It’s time to let it be and focus on the good memories

The light that i can barely see due to my ever diminished sensory

I'll follow that light until i'm out of the dark,

And hope that at the end of the tunnel I’ll retrieve my spark

At the end of the day I cannot recall

What exactly made me fall

However, Im sure i will know once i reach the light

There is no space for fear when i make this crawl

So i will face my adversities standing tall

Im sure i will know once i reach the light

In the end, I just might.
