Meet The Owners

Michael Hamwey is a Naples-based entrepreneur with a passion for botanicals and the restaurant industry. Raised in a family that owned restaurants for over 30 years outside of Boston, he grew up immersed in the culinary world. Michael spent 13 years in the mortgage industry before relocating to Naples in 2020, where he discovered the wonders of Kava and botanical teas. He was immediately drawn to their unique flavors and natural healing properties. With his newfound passion for botanicals, Michael decided to partner with Chad Brunette in 2021 to bring these amazing products to more people through Kava Luv. With his extensive experience in business and the restaurant industry, Michael is dedicated to sharing his love for Kava and botanicals with the world.

Chad Brunette a Michigan native, relocated to Florida in 2011. In 2019, he was introduced to the world of kava, and quickly developed a passion for the industry. This led him to extensive research and ultimately the decision to establish his own kava bar. In March 2021, Chad opened the first Kava Luv location in Naples. When he's not focused on entrepreneurial endeavors, Chad enjoys exploring new destinations, delving into topics like history, philosophy, and science.
