From Customer to Kavatender: My Journey of Luv and Community at Kava Luv-Ty Ludwig

Hey,

My name is Ty Ludwig. I am a kavatender here at kava Luv and working here has brought me many wonderful experiences. I was First really exposed to kava and botanical tea at Kava Luv. I worked at Winn Dixie, which is a few doors down from Kava Luv. My friends and I saw it open and became the first customers ever. I soon fell in love with the environment, the sober surroundings, and of course the drinks. I kept going back because I loved the way my personality meshed with the environment. I started working there about ten and a half months ago. Since then I loved my job making drinks and of course I’ve created my own drinks as well. My favorite drink however is just kava shots. I really like the buzz that our kava shots give me and they really help me get some good sleep. No other kava bar has kava that can compare. The botanical teas also really help with my anxiety. I really can never pick between the feelings of the two so I will get myself a decent amount of both for my shifts or just in general whenever I spend time at Kava Luv.

What drove me to really work here was the social aspect of the job. I love being closer with my customers and the respect we have for each other is really great. I also get this massive family that helps in any way they can to help me further myself and I get to be there for all of them. You never have that lonely feeling working at Kava Luv, and there’s always someone there who will care. I can’t explain how deeply you get to connect with friends, coworkers, and customers. It’s something you have to experience with everyone at Kava Luv. We are so welcoming here and love to help people step out of their shell even if it is only a small amount. We have built such an amazing community here thanks to my amazing coworkers, my bosses, and our wonderful family of customers. Every single one of them from the most regular customers and the people who stop by once in a while.

Personally, my favorite event at Kava Luv is the Poetry Club. I don’t necessarily always partake, but the art that comes out of their group is fantastic. They consistently find a way to work on their craft and better their art. Realistically I love that they work so hard to hone their craft. It’s always exciting to hear what they’ve come up with, and they don’t take themselves so seriously that they can’t indulge in a good laugh once in a while. Poetry Club is great because it’s so nice to see people actively trying to work on their craft together.

At Kava Luv I have been able to grow with the company so much and I am excited to see how far I get to grow with them. I have never felt so in place at work before in my life and the lessons and advice have done wonders for me. I am extremely grateful to have so much positivity in my life and even while I am working I still get to have a good time with everyone at Kava Luv.
