Nick Zbikowski: Finding a Home Away from Home at Kava Luv

Hi, my name is Nick Zbikowski, and I'd like to share with you my journey as a regular at Kava Luv. Life is all about change, they say, and I was ready for a transformation. I wanted something different, a social life with an alternative crowd. It's not always easy to find places that offer that kind of environment, but then I discovered Kava Luv.

Kava Luv wasn't just close to home; it became my refuge during challenging times. After Hurricane Ian, when my office turned into an apartment and the power was out, Kava Luv provided a safe haven. Little did I know that this would lead to something even more special.

It was at Kava Luv that I had the pleasure of meeting Meredith, who would later become my girlfriend. Spending time with her was a priority, and Kava Luv was the perfect place to do just that. But it wasn't just about the person I met; it was also about the community I became a part of.

I remember the night vividly when I first noticed the Kava Luv sign. Curiosity got the better of me, and I returned later that evening to have my very first drink at this establishment.  My favorite has got to be the "Eminem" because it's not just a drink; it's a vibe, especially when you want to feel good on Kava and M&Ms. When it comes to botanical teas, I have a hierarchy—green, white, and yellow, in that order. Each strain offers a different experience, from calming me down to waking me up or helping me focus.

Poker and Wellness Wednesdays are my absolute favorite events at Kava Luv. Poker allows me to indulge in one of my favorite games while also getting the chance to win prizes. They are extremely welcoming to people of all experience levels which allows me to truly work on my skills. Wellness Wednesday brings a different air to the bar. It really shows the different people who have passions that they’ve developed into businesses. This give me and the local community more chances to help small businesses thrive.

I like to do a little bit of everything at Kava Luv. From playful banter with the Kava tenders to engaging in intense card games, deep conversations, and even some work. It's a place where you can wear many hats and always feel welcome.

One thing I've learned is that Kava Luv is a place where you can meet people from all walks of life. Thanks to my outgoing nature, I've had the privilege of connecting with tons of people here. Shyness has no place in this vibrant community.  As of September, I've been a part of the Kava Luv family for a year and a half. It's been an incredible journey of personal growth, meaningful connections, and memorable experiences. Keep the Luv alive!
