Passion and Creativity: Jonah’s Journey into Joy at Kava Luv

Hi, my name is Jonah Obrecht, and I have been coming to Kava Luv for a little over 2 years now. I first heard about Kava Luv through my high school friend Vanessa who was working there. I decided to stop in on a Sunday and check the place out. It wasn’t very busy, and I didn’t drink botanical teas at the time so I didn’t come back for a week or two. However, I soon heard about the “Live at Luv” event, which hosted local musicians from around Naples and decided to show up. Unlike the time I had come in before this event was overflowing with people enjoying the music and conversing. I reconnected with some other friends from high school and made new ones as well, all in the same night.

I had been out of high school for about a year and was mostly spending my time working or commuting to FGCU, where I am studying art, and later plan to move to Savannah Georgia to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design. I was living at home and didn’t have much of a social life until I discovered Kava Luv, it gave me an experience like the social environment of college that I was lacking yet included people of all different ages and experiences. After making plenty of friends at Kava Luv, I soon became a regular and began enjoying their botanical teas of which the Pineapple Passion is my favorite. There’s nothing better than coming into kava luv to work on a project while enjoying their delicious drinks, which help boost my energy and focus and don’t make me crash unlike caffeine.

Art is one of the most important aspects of my life, so finding a place like Kava Luv, which naturally attracts creative people, has been such a huge help in connecting me to artistic individuals who encourage and inspire me to improve myself and my art. One of my favorite events that was just recently started has been art club, where everyone is given a prompt and a chance to showcase projects they are working on, no matter what skill level. Besides art club, Kava Luv also offers a variety of clubs and events including my favorite: Poker Night, Game Night, Poetry Club, Tabletop Game Night, and more!

I want to keep this short and sweet so I’ll just finish with this: Ever since I decided to walk into Kava Luv, I have been blessed with so many new friends, many of which I consider life-long friends, had many live-changing conversations, thanks to the vast array of characters that frequent Kava Luv and share all of their different life experiences. I’d also like to add that the staff at Kava Luv is what really holds this place together. Each Kava tender has something that they bring to the table, and together all of their personalities help Kava Luv run like a well-oiled machine. Everyone behind and in front of the bar treats everyone with respect, and you can really tell that each employee truly loves their job. If you haven’t paid a visit to Kava Luv yet, be prepared to fall in Luv with this botanical tea bar and the friendly cast of people that frequent it!
